probably should have thought of that too
I wish you would have. I’d consider purchasing one for my Sirman Galileo 350 manual model. Its got a footprint of about 29x30x21 (LWH).
Unfortunately, the 11lb stuffer didn’t come with a cover. So I am trying to figure out a good way to keep the equipment clean that also looks nice. The easy way would be to just put a nice thick garbage bag over it, but that isn’t very aesthetically pleasing.
I think ideally I’d like to have a restaurant pan transfer cabinet with each item on a pan that can be easily slid out for use, but what do other people do with their bulky machines?
This is the type of transfer cabinet I was thinking
Personally, mine sits in my home office on top of a un-used rectangular trash can covered with a plastic grocery bag with a hole cut out of the center for the post. Nobody see’s it sitting in the office behind the door
Mine is just on shelfs in my basement and I wipe everything off before using it, so no real reason to need to cover it, but if I were to cover it I’d just use a trash bag.
I purchased a storage cabinet at the hardware store. You’ll note the dowels under the stuffer, this protects the suction cups wih no weight on them. Meat lugs with supplies in them, grinder with accessories in the box. Finally bottom shelf with slicer, meat mold and jerky cutter/tenderizer. Doors close and lock and everything stays clean.
jfyoung45 Nice, thanks for sharing
Ridley Acres Try the plastic place. They have all kinds of plastic bags - in fact I ordered one to cover my Jeep Wrangler seats when I take the top off in case it rains.
They have different colors as well.
If your equipment is light enough to easily move around easily, then storage shelves make sense. My equipment is all too heavy to move around easily to a shelf so it stays on carts with wheels that allow me to push out in the room when I use it and back into corners or other out-ot-the-way locations when not in use. I cover it with plastic bags or sheeting when it is not in use to keep the dust off it.
processhead Well I guess until I get an elevator in my house, I will have to continue to use my own horsepower to move my equipment around. Carts would be great, maybe I should start making sausage in the basement then I wouldn’t have to carry everything up to the kitchen. Though I usually make leave the really heavy (grinders) for my sausage making partner to carry up.

Making sausage in our kitchen would be a non-starter at our house.
Fortunately, I have everything in my basement work area for reasonably efficient meat processing including, cooler space and the smoker, so no elevator required.
Having a walkout simplifies moving deer quarters, frozen meat, finished product in and out of the basement.
processhead a walkout would be nice, I guess I haven’t ever really thought of some of the convivences of having a walkout basement.

The advantages are numerous.
Moving in appliances, gun safes, sausage making equipment. And then there are guests that you don’t want coming through the front door early in the morning or after-hours. Did I mention the man-cave, brewery and bar are also in the basement?

Well that could be interrupted in multiple ways…
Ridley Acres I used to cover all my equipment, but I realized that I was washing and sanitizing it before use anyways, so what’s the point, now it is just stored on shelves.
Ridley Acres We just keep ours covered with the clear plastic that came with it & sit it on top of the freezer in the big pantry. It seems to work pretty well & no extra expense or space taken. I like your idea lot though, if you have the room for it.
I took those big heavy plastic bags the comforters and bedspreads come in and put my grinder inside and covered my large slicer . Sits in the garage ready when needef
I use the aforementioned trash bag.
I kinda feel like I need another to put the packaging specific stuff in.
If I had another the vac sealer and paper rolls can each have their own pan
And I could get my grinder in one too
I use black storage totes (ones with the yellow or black tops)
