Tex_77 thanks, if any of you make it to Oahu in Hawaii, do yourself a favor and visit Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial, the Mighty Mo (USS Missouri) and the USS Bowfin (submarine). It’s all inside of the Pearl Harbor National Park. The history at Pearl Harbor is amazing and humbling. My family was lucky enough to meet several of the survivors from battle ship row when we were there. It was definitely worth the visit.

Tex_77 said in Today in History:
They’ve urged us to ‘Remember Pearl Harbor.’ But what happens when the survivors are gone?
Tex for me to answer your question,
The survivors of the survivors will carry on the message!! -

I was disappointed watching news channels yeaterday. Not much mentioned about Pearl Harbor. I think it should have been mentioned at the top of every hour.

bocephus I asked both of my kids if they knew what day it was. To my surprise they both knew. Turns out they have the same teacher for science class just different hours. He talked about it to his classes. Not sure if he is a veteran or not but I bet he is.

bocephus I was pleasantly surprised that it was discussed and my kids telling me all about it. I thought it was great. Cooper knew all about already. He has read 4or5 books about it. He loves war history.

A few years ago, grandson’s school had a program on Pearl Harbor. He got to talk to one of the survivors afterwards. It really made an impression on him. So thankful some schools are still willing to teach the history that made our country.
