Making Pizzas
-
So, thanks to j.michael cominskie I am now the owner of a Dalstrong Pizza cutter!
I will be making some Pizza this weekend to take this baby for a test run! The bottom of the handle (which is very heavy) has a pointed metal section, so while not as war-like as the Obliterator or the Tuna Shadow Sword this still can do some damage!

Who wants to bet he cuts his thumb within the first 3 uses?

Ridley Acres he has probably already cut himself just playing with it.

I knew these jokes were coming in! So…Pizza cutters are traditionally that sharp BUT…I got this one cause it had a knick in the blade so naturally, I had to remove that nick with a light pass through the Tru-Hone…so, it could conceivably take a finger off.
-
Tex_77 you were right…

my guess he cut himself and is going to try to pass it off as “testing the edge”
-
Jonathon It would be a lot cooler if your name was etched in the blade!
-
Jonathon the person slinging the pizza cutter in battle, will be a thing of legend

So, the Tru-Hone can sharpen a wheel?

Ridley Acres I am thinking he might lose a finger.
-
Denny O Yes and no, it doesn’t spin it, you have to hold it still and drag it through the wheels but it worked well. I just wanted to remove the knick, not really sharpen it and it worked wonderfully for that. If I ever cut myself with this I will make sure to show everyone of course. Right now I have enough Dalstrong stuff to outfit a neighborhood gang or heavily arm myself!

I will stay sharp as long as you keep it on the cardboard the pizza comes on, but if you have real pizza that you have on pizza pans, it will dull fast it you cut you pizza on them.

Jonathon the handle is shaped nicely!
-
ND Mike Yes, I love that, it is also super heavy…I usually leave things like that around the office for a while but this one came home with me today!

Along this line but a different item,
I cut up my smoked pepper cheese to 1/4" cubes and we are in need of a new cheese slicer you know the one that we have, any ideas? -

Denny O If you want a slicer slicer then I’d wait 2 days, they are going on pretty good sale! If you are wanting a hand held slicer than the best I can come up with is one of the Victorinox Slicer knives https://waltons.com/categories/slicing-knives
Nice board!
-
Denny O Man it’s been awhile since I have seen one of those slicers. I am not sure if my parents have theirs.

HerbcoFood Does bring back memories. Alot of velveeta sliced with one of those.

GROSS! I have one of those cheese slicers…
I remember eating velveta cheese as a kid, and I tried it a few years ago… threw it to the seagulls to eat.bocephus said in Making Pizzas:

badexpresso Only use it now for cheese sauces, works good mixed with other cheeses. As a kid we ate it all the time on sandwiches or grilled cheese.
-
Denny O love that slicer. Velveeta and government issued cheese. My lovely wife still thinks that style is the very best cheese slicer she has
