Parksider I picked some up recently and really like it. You are right about the consistency.
My 1/4
-
My 1/4 came in from Kreihbels Specialty Meats! I specifically didn’t look at the receipt so that we could do a cost per lb and what amount of what cuts break down on a podcast so we will get to the that. I am stocked with ground beef for a long time though. On the second pick the entire bottom is the ground beef bags, 2 lbers and I am fairly sure I have 44 lb of ground beef, some of the thickest t-Bones ever and then a bunch of round steak and sirloin. I should be good at the grocery store for a long time! We still have about 40 lb of chicken too from that time I bought my wife 80 lb of chicken for her Birthday…who said romance is dead?

Ridley Acres I have already started breaking my wife in for that change!

Nice to know where we can go for beef in the End Times.
-
Jonathon very nice! This is such a great way to buy beef.
-
I want to hear more about Birthday Chicken.
-
Jamieson22 It was my wife’s Birthday, I already had all of her other gifts, she complained about the quality of some chicken from Dillons so I ordered 80 lb of it through here and then packaged it into almost exactly what she cooks at a time and it was probably her favorite gift! It’s hard because we don’t have many expenses, no kids, don’t go out for dinner or drinks much so we normally just buy things we want. Especially her, so surprising her with something she will like and use is hard! It was way more of a joke “gift” for her and just something we needed anyway.
-
Jonathon I know the feeling! Gift giving between my wife and I is usually her sending me a link to something saying “buy me this for Xmas”. And that is only so the kids have something to give each of us.

Jonathon having a full freezer or freezers is a good problem to have. I have 3 chest freezers that are full to the top right now.

Jonathon your freezer issues look a lot like mine!
I’ve just have to quit buying!
35 plus year old Amana 4ft chest freezer, 10 year old 36" chest freezer, 1/2 of a 36" wide side by side and the upper section of a over under large fridge, I can not take anything else on, especially with 2 more deer coming my way! -

Jonathon Want that beef to last longer, vacuum seal all those butcher paper wrapped packages. You’ll get far less ice crystals and less chance of freezer burn in the vacuum bags.

johnsbrewhouse I totally agree with this, I always do this with about 2/3 of mine and eat the other first.

bocephus I actually should go through mine and see what I all have. That is the bad thing about chest freezers. I need to buy an upright!

ND Mike Definite like the upright better, it is easier to get to things. Mostly store my wild game, pork butts and turkey in the chest freezer.

bocephus that’s a good way to do it!
