20lb electric grinder questions
-
I finally pulled my new stuffer out of the box and have a few questions. Upon inspection and comparing to my Waltons 7lb manual stuffer, I’m not sure if the piston air relief valve is missing a part or something is wrong with it?
On my 7lb stuffer, the air relief is held tight with the spring and if you push it with your finger, it will push up simulating opening to release air from the hopper. On this new one, it just flops back and forth when I turn the piston upside down and back over. Is this normal? I attached a pic to hopefully show what I’m talking about.
Also, I’m a little disappointed in the quality of the hopper itself. The internal welds have lots of pitting, leaving several spots for meat to get stuck in while cleaning and cause bacteria growth. The inside also isn’t polished like on my 7lb. Anyone else have this issue?

Our team did some digging and I have some info to share. There was an issue during one batch of production on the stuffing canisters. The automatic welding machine our manufacturer uses broke, and they were trying to weld manually, and they did a poor job of it. We have a number of replacements already through production and being sent to us, and we have talked to them about the quality issues and problems with the manual welding, and they will not be trying to do that again. If you have not already talked with our customer service team about a replacement, let me know, and I can personally get that initiated. -

Looks like someone used a hatchet to finish those welds.

Thank you. Got the hopper part squared away today. Customer service took care of me. Nice having good customer service every time I call. That’s a rarity these days but it’s also why I continue to choose to spend my money with you guys. It goes a long way.
Now just working on the piston part with the tech dept.
