Can someone post a picture of their stuffing plunger plate and pressure release valve on the new walton’s electric stuffer…this will be only my second time using it and I think it has a design flaw or maybe I’m just missing something…what is the purpose of the spring on the pressure release valve as there is nothing to restrict it, as it just slides right through the stuffing plate… the valve just slides up and down, while on my horizontal manual suffer the spring is restricted and can be adjusted … on the electric stuffer I have to hold the top nut down manually while the plate is going inside the canister to make sure all of the air gets released…I’m a little confused…thanks in advance

This was todaybtoo, another guy asking, but he does have a picture?

That is the exact same question I have. I am going to contact customer service tomorrow and ask about it.
-
I contacted customer service about this and they said just to remove the spring on the air release and use it like that. When adding additional meat I had to reach in and push down the release to get air out. I wish they would just provide a larger diameter spring.
-
That is my question exactly. The spring is doing nothing but helping the air vent stay centered but not helping open the vent when you back the plunger off. Should not be to hard to refit to make it work.

The spring was a bad design and should not have been included because it caused confusion. It effectively doesn’t do anything helpful. On a lot of stuffers, it can be designed and used, so it was included, but it should not have been. You can remove the spring, and it is not needed. We have done a lot of testing on the spring and air release valve, and we have determined that without having constant tension on the release valve makes the unit run better and reduces the number of times the gasket can pop, and it reduces pressure on the motor and reduces the likelihood of tripping the electrical in the motor. It will function better without the spring in there, and the mistake was made of leaving the spring in the production units instead of removing it prior to being shipped out. -
Mcjagger I removed my spring and ran 70# thru it and it worked just fine. I think it has enough weight that it will remain down until hitting the farce. My old stuffer has a spring, however it is significantly lighter and requires a spring to hold it open.
