After mashing, I dump out the spent grains and I load up the red cooler with a caustic cleaner and 180 water and run the cleaner through the pump and all the lines, valves, chillers, and hoses.Paul,
I showed my son this post and he was impressed with your set up. He was just wandering which caustic cleaner you were using? -

processhead so my son, who brews at the Carrilon Brewing Company, which is a museum/historic brewery
https://www.daytonhistory.org/visit/shop-dine/carillon-brewing-co/
I asked him if he wanted anything in the home brew line and he said yes and sent me a link to a Grainfather system. Well he got lucky and I found one for a decent price. He wanted a 110 system so he could move it around if needed. He was so excited to try it out, he had his first brew made the day after Christmas in my basement. There is a deep sink and floor drain close to each other, so it didn’t take long. He really likes the Grainfather system. There is 6 gallons of a test batch in the fermenter. He used pilsner grains, Tettnanger hops (two additions 15 and 60), Lalleman Koln yeast. So its going to be a interesting test run. I’ll let you know what I think in a few weeks. It is nice not to worry about boil overs anymore. The brew temps can be monitored on a cell phone by Bluetooth also. Kids these days!
