Surg Carrie’s son with her son brought happy tears to this ole` farts eyes!
I’ve never really listened to Carrie’s songs, she is fantastic!
Thank you Surg!
Merry Christmas! -
Denny O O Holy Night is absolutely my favorite Christmas Hymn. As an old “traddy” I prefer the choirs of angels, not unlike those who sang to the shepherds and proclaimed the birth of our Savior… … …that being said if I were to be stuck on and island with only one Christmas album it would be Phil Spector… Charles Brown’s Christmas blues is close but not as fun. Merry Christmas

Denny O my favorite is Silent Night. My Grandma played the organ and she would play this at our Christmas get togethers. Whenever I hear Silent Night I am a little kid sitting next to my Grandma on the organ bench.
I tear up everytime I hear it. Tears of missing her and also tears of good memories!

My favorites for professionals are O holy Night and for non religious it would be Please Come Home for Christmas
For church it’s Silent Night. It was written for children so I can kind of sing it (as long as I sing softer than the crowd). LOL -

These songs take me back to my youth and midnight mass. Brothers and sisters always went with my mom when we were old enough to stay awake.

I know everyone has a favorite from their childhood and some newer ones within their adult life.
Here is one I enjoy by George Winston.
Variations on the Kanon
Not necessarily a christmas hymn but I think it is fitting for the season. You will hear it alot in weddings.
SWMBO (aka my wife) is a natural pianist studied at the University since she was 5 years old. I let her listen to the recording back in the very early 80’s and she swore there were 2 pianists! Then when we saw George in person she figured out how he did it. -

I would have to say Silent Night and White Christmas, I’ve always wanted to go out caroling but don’t want the cops called thinking that I’m spraying turpentine on a cats rear end and torture
