OleSmokey thats a good one. When an elderly friend of mine passed away quit a few years ago, his wife gave me all of his sausage books and recipes, that was one of the books

calldoctoday $30 for 5 dozen at US Foods/Chiefs Store today. They were half that much a month and a half ago, the last time I bought them. They blame it on avian flu, the same thing the blamed on the chicken shortage which now looks like to much chicken. Sound like some egg producers trying to up the profits.

That is a crazy price for a dozen. I paid 59 cents for a dozen around a year ago. They will come back down but WOW! $6 is hard on a budget. Glad my freezer is almost full and once I get the pigin the freezer, I’ll be set for the year.

calldoctoday I think people get almost brainwashed… taste washed maybe, Into liking mass-produced food to the point when you can give them something that is objectively better, higher quality, less additives, and more nutrients and they will still want their low-nutrition thing because it is just what they are used to and expecting it to taste like.

Many, perhaps even most people become accustomed to things they eat all the time or grew up with, even if it was not particularly good quality or good tasting. Anything new or different triggers a negative response in these people.
Then there are folks that are more receptive to foods that are new and have different flavors and textures.

processhead Change is accepted only 20% of the time in company processes or eating. 80% will fight it mightily until it’s their only choice. Tricking the 80% in the form of “not telling them of the change” usually works with food. Then, when told “the reality” they will scream out “you’re lying” and I just laugh.

I agree with you on that. My teenagers almost always go for the microwave processed food instead of eating steak and roast. -

dawg And that is what is going to kill some slowly overtime, others it won’t affect. We are doing as much as we can to get away from processed foods of any kind. All that really is standing in our way, sauces, and we love our sauces!
