We have a Roberto’s taco here that has the carrot/onion/jalapeno as a garnish. I usually grab a baggie full. I will be trying this one.
Sandwich spread
-
Made some bologna sandwich spread last night. A very nostalgic treat for me. I first learned to make it from my grandmother. I’ve since made it with small differences at a couple of retail shops. Absolutely delicious IMHO
6# ground bologna
4 cups miracle whip
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups sweet relish
Prepared Horseradish to tasteI normally use less sugar and a healthy amount of horseradish as that is my preference. Simple and easily tweaked to personal taste

Sounds almost like my mom’s ham spread she used to make with the leftover ham
-
Deepwoodsbutcher With Miracle Whip and sweet relish is the sugar really even needed?

HerbcoFood good question
. With those it should be pretty sweet.

Deepwoodsbutcher my Mom used to make that for school lunches, we called it Ham Salad spread.
I love this too, now you have me wanting some for lunch! I never added horseradish, but also sounds tasty! -
we made one out of braunschweiger, mayo, horseradish, dill pickles, and mustard/garlic powder

Deepwoodsbutcher Sounds good.

HerbcoFood definitely not necessary. I use very little in comparison to this recipe, but it is how I prepared it for customers in the past.
-
johnsbrewhouse yeah, can be made with ham as well.
-
Deepwoodsbutcher Grandma used to make that frequently. Haven’t had it for several years.

Deepwoodsbutcher that sounds awesome!

Deepwoodsbutcher That looks good, send some on down my way for my daily snack! I have done it with smoked pork & beef, but never Bologna & I really like the way that looks & can only imagine the taste.
-
Deepwoodsbutcher Perfect timing on the bologna spread. I may need this recipe to salvage the bologna I made today. I never heard of this spread but my wife says a lady at her work makes bologna sandwich spread.
-
Deepwoodsbutcher A local deli makes something similar with the ends of their lunch meat, less the horseradish & I like it better than the ham spread. Now I’ll have to try it myself. Thanks
