Ban on gas stoves

https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/gas-stove-ban-table-federal-agency-reports
A few things. We will eventually talk about this on the podcast but 1st, does this make anyone else unreasonably angry? Like I am stupidly upset about this for some reason, I feel like a teenager who was just told that they can’t go out on a Friday night to the big party or something.
2nd, good luck with this ban. If they pass this my wife might even get involved in politics cause she hates electric tops.
3rd, is the gas from our stovetops really a pollutant? I was unaware of this and I am betting it is not true.
4th, if they do this, a home carbon tax is 100% coming shortly after.

They are allready trying to do this in ny they just pulled another good one outlawing some detergent so get ready world ny has said by 2028 all new houses must have cold weather heat pumps I am all for saving the plant for my grandchildren but let’s be real about how to do it when 2030 comes all buildings have to have these things 3 story’s or less we recycle and have solar on are roof but until the electric grid is ready for cars and 100% heat let’s just slow down and think which the government doesn’t seem to be able to do oh and thanks for letting me blow off steam

Jonathon It makes me angry on two accounts, I sent you the article and I get no mention, and I have a gas stove so the government can have it back at the same time they come for my guns. The $850 tax credit that is available to replace a gas stove with an electric stove is a joke compared to the cost of what really nice gas stoves cost. I read that the gas companies are pushing for better ventilation over gas stoves to mitigate the problems critic say they cause with pollutants in a house. I’m all for better ventilation of any type of stoves, I find it laughable when I see a $500K plus house with a 30" electric stove and a microwave above it for a hood, which most the time essentially does nothing but recirculate dirty air around.
-
Tex_77 Rgith! That was my EXACT thought was good luck, you can have them when you can have my guns…so never! Yeah, we have a hood over ours and microwave off to the side…maybe I should consider running that when I cooking with it? I found that article all on my lonesome!
gus4416 Solar in NY can be good, my inlaws have it and it keeps their energy bill lower BUT people are wanting it for cleaner air then the carbon footprint of those will NEVER be made up in NY, just not enough sun anywhere in the state. By the time they produce enough energy to offset the carbon that went into making them, they will be old and non-functional. FYI, the last 2 hold-outs from my family in NY my Mother and my brother now have plans to leave. NY is the new California on people bailing apparently.

Tex_77 Also, sorry about the other day, I was walking into someone’s office who was exactly the person I couldn’t talk about that topic (next Will it BB) around! Our graphics manager said they wont come to our houses, they will just go to the utility company and I don’t have a good response to that.
Well one of them has been in Kansas for about 5 years now so too late for that. The other sister has moved to NC already and that is where my mom and brother are planning to go. She is retired and he works for General Electric and they have a big plant down there doing what he does.

Jonathon so then everyone has to switch to electric heaters rather than natural gas?
-
Tex_77 The thought was turn off your gas until they have verified you have gotten rid of your stove. It might sound ridiculous but if they are planning on banning gas stoves them wanting to enter a house to check isn’t a big step at all.
ANARCHY! Seriously, I am more of an anarchist then ever now. I despise both parties now and just want to be left alone.
-
Jonathon I agree it just helps with the light bill which is way to much it isn’t the electric used it is the delivery charge which is more than half now and if my wife would leave are grandchildren we would have left long ago
-
Yeah, the powers to be already want to institute a carbon tax in our daily lives. Oh you drove 100 miles this week, welp you have used up all your driving credits for the month, hope you have some good walking shoes.

The book 1984 is becoming a reality more and more.
-
Jonathon I read that too ,
anymore all I can say to people is Who did you vote for???
If you’re party got in in 2000, enjoy what you got!! -
this had to start somewhere in California with there bans on gas powered small engines ,wanting all new car sales to be electric by a certain date when they don’t have enough grid to run everyone during summer and have rolling blackouts DUH!!!?
-
Craig Rice might have started in ny
-
it seems like everything la starts new England dose next
-
Who let the idiots lead?
Sorry. No politics.
We are looking at this all wrong, switch them all to electric, let a polar vortex move in for 2 weeks, the electric grid crashes, and all the idiots freeze. Then the smart ones are all that’s left. Darwin’s theory?

Jonathon I read about California doing it, I did not read about the Feds doing it. Here I am thinking about biting the bullit & getting rid of this electric range we got stuck with here & finding a way to go ahead & bite the bullit with Propane, since they will not run the natural gas across the street here. I really like cooking with gas so much better than electric, especially with my old cast iron pots & pans. This modern day electric stove with the fancy top, just scares the bedevil out of me. I can imagine I am not alone. I think it would be a major injustice to a lot of folks. Then they are always tooting that natural gas is cleaner. Don’t get me started on some things, it will not end good. Then here you have a guy that pines for the day when we could go back to our old wood burning stoves. When ever we had one of those bad ice storms with no power for a week, we were just fine with both heat & cooking. There was something real nice about that fire on a cold day, even without the extremes. Of course, they say you do not need that any more due to climate change…
-
Jonathon Like they said at Gonzales, come & get it…
-
Not only is gas much nicer to cook with, but the gas range in general seems to be simpler, more heavy duty, more durable, & cheaper. Don’t even get me started on who might not like those sort of things.
