Beyond meat

A little embarrassed to even be asking this question, but here goes. Has anyone made any snack sticks with the fake meat? Someone asked me about it and thinking prob could, but???
Would like to hear thoughts from you all

nicholls47 as you can see we get off track sometimes. I have never tried it but I would suggest just trying a small batch like maybe 5 pounds. Hopefully someone will have a better answer for you

nicholls47 I would also think a good binder would be necessary to hold the meat together an hold moisture since fake meat might be hard to get protein extraction.

nicholls47 Never tried it but I bet itâs possible. I would think a bunch of experimentation would need to be done. Since itâs not real meat I would guess when you mix it, itâs not going to stay meat like. You might end up with a long snack stick flavored french fry.

There goes some time wasted youâll never get back. HA

I would never make it , but would be interested if it was done and worked out?

Theyâve already tried to make jerky commercially. My BIL brought some over that he picked up at a convenience store, it was so bad he wanted me to try it. I had to lick a goatâs rear section to get the taste out of my mouth. It was pretty nasty.

nicholls47 I actually did try this about 3 years ago. I actually tried it twice, once with Morning Star Crumbles and once with Tofu. The morning star crumbles wonât bind no matter what you do. The proteins in them have already been denatured, so they are NOT going to bind. The tofu also wouldnât bind and was the only food that I have ever spit out on a videoâŠat least I think that is the only time that happened, could be wrong there.

Isnât the carrot the original âbeyond meatâ snack stick, hehehe!!!
