Magnetic knife holder
-
anyone use a magnetic knife holder (instead of a block or drawer).
Thoughts…
-
badexpresso I use them to display some knives in my workshop but they are mostly hunting knives. Don’t know why it wouldn’t work in kitchen.
-
WE USE THEM IN THE TEST KITCHES. MAKES THEM VISIBLE (BLADE NOT JUST HANDLE) AND EASILY ACCESSABLE. not yelling, didn’t realize cap locks were on, yes I look at the keyboard when I type, back off

@wvotrfan Nice collection of Buck knives. I have carried one hunting for 50 years, they don’t let you down. Mine is so old that it has the flap cover on the case instead of the strap.

bocephus thank you for reminding me… 444

Departing Contestant That’s better, I thought you were losing your touch.
-
bocephus I am losing so much more than my touch. Add to the “losing” list my peace of mind/sanity, my hair, my waistline, my grip, my reason, …my memory…where was I going with this…443

Departing Contestant I lost most of what you listed a long time ago, but life is good forget all I have done wrong.
-
bocephus most of those are the newer ones 2 of them are older. I can’t remember what kind of case they have. I’ll look later
-
We have three magnetic knife holders in our butcher “shop”, two for our knives and the other for knives and miscellaneous (saws-all blade, scissors etc) by the wrapping station. I also have one in my kitchen. LOVE them! Easily accessible and great to store some of our larger knives that don’t fit into my knife block and serrated bread knife etc. I was very skeptical about them at first, but now I can’t go without.
-
badexpresso It is what we use in our studio
-
also helpful to use while working when you may need to put a knife down, so it is not misplaced or put somewhere that may be covered up by something and could lead to injury.

@wvotrfan My wife bought me a 119 Special with the Cocobolo handle for my birthday about 15 years ago, I think it is too nice to take out hunting and my old one is still in good shape, so the new one stays in the safe.
-
bocephus yep they are great collectables and incredibly durable if you ever need to go full survival mode.
