I have not personally done this conversion to a PK-100, but in general, most smokers are not too difficult to convert to a new controller.
All smokers have 3 fundamental connections to the controller.- Power.
- Temperature Sensor
- Heating Element.
To replace the original controls on a smoker, you will also likely need to replace the original temperature sensor.
You can make the process simpler by purchasing a pre-wired controller with temperature probe, mounted in an enclosure. With these, usually all that is required is to find the wiring that goes to the heating element and connect it to the new controller.
