you can soak the stones in ammonia and then scrub them with a wire brush and let them dry thoroughly.
I always sharpened the slicer blades so they would make a clean circular cut on a sheet of paper (NOT with the machine running!!)

D Halverson glad you could pick one up. I saw one over a year ago on Ebay and I was unable to be online at the end of bidding. It went fairly reasonable. I wish I could have been around during the final bid, but I’m sure the person who got it was glad I wasn’t.

D Halverson it’s always satisfying to get a fresh edge on the “money makers”, as us butcher call them. I’m sure your family members appreciate having you do that for them. A sharp knife is a safe knife.

processhead They show up on E-Bay occasionally for a good price, but you have to keep looking. I bought two a couple of years ago for about $350 a piece. Picked one of them up for a friend and he was very happy to get it, he processes his own steers and hogs. Had to buy new wheels for it, about another $50 dollars or so

GWG8541 On E-Bay you can make a top bid and it will automaticlly up your bid until it hits your max, doesn’t go right to what your max bid is, so you could get it for less than your max.

bocephus yeah I know, I hate doing it on higher priced items. I hate the bidding war of running it up. I like watching it and entering my top bid about a minute out. Someone got a deal on that one. If I remember right it went for about 450. What can I say, I’m cheap.

Jonathon I always have to give my wife a warning after I sharpen the knives with my Tru Hone. I was impressed with it after I sent you the knives to be sharpened.
