It’s not even what it used to be, so he changed it from the previous version to something else, not back to “stock”! NodeBB was looking for people to test their new version 3.0 and I said not right now, I was worried for a second that something got lost in translation.

I like the different colors absolutely!! It used to be so easy to hit the down arrow by mistake, this helps that a lot, great change I say! The orange thumb is even better!

Dave in AZ I still have to go in every day and clean out down votes. I’m cursed with fat fingers I guess.

wdaly I made the buttons a little bigger, so hopefully that helps.
Dave in AZ I think I like these colors. Orange (because it fits the theme, not just for Team orange) for the upvote and grey for the downvote I think helps distinguish between them better.
Tex_77 I assume no response and no further protest on the change back to thumbs is a good thing then.
Jonathon hasn’t protested it yet either, so maybe we’ll stick like this…? Jon and I will talk at some point and settle on something though that works best for everyone

Jonathon I am liking the neutral earth tone of the down vote so far. I think it helps separate the 2 clearly. Functional. Aesthetically pleasing? I don’t know.

Like others, I find myself inadvertently hitting the thumbs down on occasion. Not sure why, but it happens.
I would like it if it were harder to do that. Maybe a drop-down confirmation box ,or some other two step interaction just for the thumbs down?

processhead I scroll down with my fat right thumb and have inadvertently hit it scrolling down while reading the posts. Since about 80 percent of the population is right handed, that could be an issue. Location on the screen rather than the color.

Austin I’m not sure why i have to think of all of the great ideas, but why don’t you switch the thumbs up and down around? Then inadvertently hitting the thumbs up won’t bother anyone.

Tex_77 yeah, that would work. I could also just make both if them thumbs up. One is a big thumbs up and one is a small one. Or the thumbs down can be changed to a sideways thumb.
