Steven Winscot When my wife makes banana bread, I cut the ends off when warm with some butter. Can’t beat that. Yours looks great.

Love all the holiday breads! Mom made a great cranberry nut, sister has the pumpkin down pat! Banana has yet to be perfected in the family. Mom, may she rest in peace, made it and it was quite good but still a tad dry by my standards.

Denny O I’ve tried many recipes but they all seem a bit to dry, This one is Janet’s rich banana bread, it’s made using sour cream and it’s nice and moist. I substitute chopped cashews for the walnuts. The walnuts are to bitter for my taste.

cdavis I Didn’t think anyone would really be interested but since you asked here it is for those who want it.
Banana bread, 1/2 cup white sugar leveled 1/2 cup brown sugar packed an leveled, 1/2 cup butter melted, 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 1/2 cups flour packed and leveled, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 cup sour cream, 1/2 cup cashews chopped, 2 medium bananas smashed, preheat oven to 350°, grease 9x5" pan thoroughly, stir sugar, butter and vanilla in a large bowl, add eggs and mix thoroughly. combine flour, baking soda and salt in another bowl, then add to butter mixture and stir until smooth, add bananas, sour cream and nuts mix thoroughly, fill pan 1" from top (you may have a little left over), cook 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean, cool 10 minutes and remove from pan, set on wire rack to cool. If your pan was properly greased it should come right out.
This is a recipe with my own twist, I hope you like it. -
