Love all the holiday breads! Mom made a great cranberry nut, sister has the pumpkin down pat! Banana has yet to be perfected in the family. Mom, may she rest in peace, made it and it was quite good but still a tad dry by my standards.

Denny O I’ve tried many recipes but they all seem a bit to dry, This one is Janet’s rich banana bread, it’s made using sour cream and it’s nice and moist. I substitute chopped cashews for the walnuts. The walnuts are to bitter for my taste.

cdavis I Didn’t think anyone would really be interested but since you asked here it is for those who want it.
Banana bread, 1/2 cup white sugar leveled 1/2 cup brown sugar packed an leveled, 1/2 cup butter melted, 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 1/2 cups flour packed and leveled, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 cup sour cream, 1/2 cup cashews chopped, 2 medium bananas smashed, preheat oven to 350°, grease 9x5" pan thoroughly, stir sugar, butter and vanilla in a large bowl, add eggs and mix thoroughly. combine flour, baking soda and salt in another bowl, then add to butter mixture and stir until smooth, add bananas, sour cream and nuts mix thoroughly, fill pan 1" from top (you may have a little left over), cook 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean, cool 10 minutes and remove from pan, set on wire rack to cool. If your pan was properly greased it should come right out.
This is a recipe with my own twist, I hope you like it. -

Mailman just dropped off an attachment for my kitchenaid mixer. I bought this for grinding 5lb batches so I don’t have to break out the Biro for a handful of meat. I’m going to use it for an upcoming batch of Braunschweiger.
-
Steven Winscot I bet you paid for that. My
Youngest is still in college and he makes hes paying his way reselling stuff we find at yard sales and auctions. Got a couple kitchen aide accessories in the box including that grinder and they resold for good money. He has one more semester so we will be hitting it again soon if your looking for anything. -

WVTim It’s the only attachment I have at this point and I am interested in others. I have the 6 quart model, keep me posted.

Steven Winscot that looks like a handy attachment for smaller batches. Congrats

Steven Winscot when I first got my kitchen aid mixer I bought the stainless steel version from smokehouse chef. Worked great and still use it for 5lbs of burgers. But using it as a stuffer is what led me to Walton’s 11 lb stuffer. So much easier.

Steven Winscot I believe we have bought or seen pasta makers, shredders, slicers and juicers. My wife got everything she wanted already. I’ll let you know I we find any cheap. I’m waiting on the KitchenAid PTO log splitter to come out for it. If I find one of those I’ll make some YouTube video

WVTim I don’t know about log splitter, maybe toothpick maker, stay in the kitchen.
-
bocephus I don’t know. Doesn’t need to work my wife’s reaction to me trying to spilt wood with it would be worth it. Could always backfire and I could wind up with a newer model in her kitchen. She already talks about upgrading it now which seems like such a waste of money since she only uses every other week but I can’t argue that because I got a bunch more money into upgraded processing equipment I use much less.
-
Steven Winscot Wow you are really getting set up over there.
