Do you have your corned beef near ready?
Do you make your own?
How do you like to make it?
If you can’t stand corned beef or cabbage, what do you have instead? -

Without the potato it would only be a six course Irish meal…

We couldn’t wait. We cooked our corned beef and cabbage Tuesday and it was great. Still working on the left overs so may have some today as well just to keep it official.

I usually make my own corned beef. Thought I had one in the freezer, I was wrong, must have used it for pastrami last fall. Bought a flat and point one will be our corned beef meal with the cabbage, carrots and potatoes. The other will hit the smoker covered in pepper and make itself into another pastrami.

Made an Irish boiled dinner (Corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, onions & carrots) yesterday in the slow cooker. Today will be another fish Friday at one of the local fish fries. I didn’t make my own corn beef because I can buy it cheaper than I can make it from brisket right now.

Denny O I did more drinking than cooking today. I went to a few pubs today with my oldest son. We started at the Carillon Historic Brewery where my youngest works. He made the corned beef last night that they served today, so Dad had to order that. The plate had cooked cabbage, a cabbage slaw, and mashed. Their Irish Red Ale was my drink.
My son had their Sheppard’s Pie and their Irish stout.
Of course we had a fresh loaf of Irish Soda Bread with honey butter.
There was an couple called “Jim’s Red Pants” providing live Irish tunes on the fiddle, mandolin, and concertina.
After that we went to another pub to hear the Miami Valley Pipers play some traditional tunes while we threw back a few more pints of Guinness. For dinner it was fish and chips. Sorry no pics, to many pints.

Denny O most of the fish ended up in a to go box. It was just enough to keep the drinking going.
