    • RE: 20lb electric grinder questions

Thank you. Got the hopper part squared away today. Customer service took care of me. Nice having good customer service every time I call. That’s a rarity these days but it’s also why I continue to choose to spend my money with you guys. It goes a long way.

Now just working on the piston part with the tech dept.

    • Used PK100 smokehouse

Not sure if this is allowed or not. If not please delete.

I have a used but in great condition PK100 smoker I purchased brand new in Oct 2019. It works great no issues. The only thing I use it for is smoked sausage and snack sticks. I also have 5-6 stainless hanging bars I bought for it as well as some Frogmats for jerky making, and an extra sawdust pan. These things are $2700 new. Waltons uses them in a lot of their videos. It’s an awesome smoker. The only reason I’m selling is because I just bought a commercial smokehouse for larger capacity for a possible future business idea and I wanted a humidity controlled smokehouse. I’ll get some pics up in the next few days. Will sell for $1500 and local pickup. I’m located in Northern California.

      Jonathon

Yes it was definitely cured. I guess I should’ve ran it through twice. I just would like more particle definition in my smoked sausages. Here’s a picture of the mix. I got really good extraction with the mixer. Finally got around to using the Talsa F14 and holy c**p, it was the easiest stuffing session I’ve ever had. It filled the casings quicker than I could put the on the horn.813A61F7-A0F1-4F83-B0B5-3E9553C93A79.jpeg 49DD0C9C-E7D8-4021-ABFC-2AA00C9CA2F0.jpeg

Here’s some pics. Quick wipe down of the outside. Didn’t touch the inside but you can see it’s still in great condition. I also completely forgot that I added a cold smoke generator. It’s the Smokin it Sable XL($250 option). I added it on for cold smoking with no heat when I was doing cheeses etc.B857379F-0D90-4605-B2A6-2B0B9F10714B.jpeg 221F42C3-3784-4910-A627-D75CF12100B2.jpeg C48F4886-0AFC-4571-901D-FEACFF066CB4.jpeg DA5AA0B2-A547-4518-8508-91205129500D.jpeg C421FF97-2A49-47F4-8815-96ED8D396D25.jpeg B7EBF9A5-F3DB-41B3-BAB3-2DE82981E81D.jpeg 1CB2DBA8-1F6A-44A9-9DB3-3BC1EDD40A98.jpeg

    • RE: Colosimos jerky press

      blackbetty61

      Wanna sell it? Lol

Yeah I have a jerky gun but I’m looking for something more automated now to hook up to my Walton electric stuffer and plan on doing 25lb batches at a time.

The Colosimos looks pretty solid, but I have a feeling it’s made for the industrial hydraulic vertical stuffers, not the regular ones we have, based on the YouTube videos I watched.

    • RE: Different methods of smoking brats?

      Joe Hell

That’s an idea I’ve thought about, but I’m really wondering how the local sausage shop is doing it. It’s about a 45min-1hr drive from me. I was going to go in on Monday, buy some sausage, and try to talk to the owner but I know it’s gonna be too slammed with Superbowl coming up. I’ll go the following week when it hopefully dies down a bit. Whatever method they are using, it’s definitely working very well.

    • RE: Update from Walton's on Shipping, Electric Stuffers and One Shot

I appreciate the update. I will say this though, luckily I’m apart of this community but I know there’s going to be many that buy from you guys that aren’t. I ordered both the one shot and 20LB electric stuffer back in August. Estimated ship date was Sept 7th. It’s been over a month now since estimated ship date and I was really curious where my stuffer was at. I think sending out an email to customers who ordered one with an update would go a long ways instead of just leaving them hanging for over a month. Something as simple as “we’ve found some issues with the motor and are fixing the issue before sending them out” is all it takes. Just my opinion from someone who’s spent way too much money on processing equipment. Haha

Haven’t used the one shot yet since I was waiting on the electric stuffer before I run another batch. May build a bigger smokehouse in the meantime while I wait. Thanks for standing behind your products.

Suprisingly yes. Had a few that said they were going to buy it but haven’t seen any cash yet, so it’s still available.

    • Smoked sausage grind size?

Hey guys! I made a 25lb batch of sausage yesterday. I wanted to try something a little different. Usually I grind through the 10mm plate, then through the 4.5mm plate. This time I just went through the 10mm plate one time. I wanted to see a little more definition in the sausage vs it looking like a hotdog.

When it was in the mixer, I noticed there were some larger pieces. I stuffed them and let them sit overnight and smoking today in just a bit. Will that cause any issues with how I ground it?

Yeah for someone within driving distance it’s a steal. Probably negates the good price with shipping though. I have a Shirley offset shipping from Alabama to California and it was $1250. That’s not even crated just loaded onto a trailer and shipped in the elements. It’s a lot heavier though and on big wheels.

I know Uship gives quotes and they are usually pretty reasonable. But even then you may only save $700.
