zbigjeff said in How do I locate “Meat Matters” within Meatgistics.:
Could someone advise under which category I can locate the “Meat Matters” articles? E.g. Meatgistics/Community or University or…
It is under Blogs. (look for the section off the homepage)
https://meatgistics.waltons.com/category/49/blogs
I’ve been debating moving around a few of the odds and ends things like this, so if it changes, we’ll make sure everyone knows and can find things easier.

samspade How does it not make everyone’s greatest movie list? So many great quotable lines. I’d bet I still quote it 4-5 times a week on average! lol!
processhead I question the same thing.
RafterW Grimpuppy Good to hear other have Dumb and Dumber in their top 10 list too! Haha!

I’m looking at a few things and making changes…One thing I cannot change directly for people is category subscriptions.
It looks like most of the emails you get are for the Smoking and Grilling category.Go to that category and make sure you are not “subscribed”.
You should see a green “subscribe” button.
If you see an “unsubscribe” button, click that to stop emails there. -
RafterW We both had straight drives. I drove it further through the fairway and thus farther overall, but Jon was closer to the flag because of the pin location on the green and his approach to it.
I pulled this up on google maps for a screenshot.
Also, then did a little distance measuring in google maps. Based on my estimate locations of shots there, I drove it around 280 yards and Jon drove it around 255 yards. -

Haha! I totally forgot we started out that way!!! Lol

processhead Fixed the reply and action icons from hiding by default. No hover required. They should display all the time now!

I noticed Jonathon was not in the family picture at “Bust A Clay”!
I’m actually shocked Jon didn’t work his way into that one.

Austin Sounds like Leo has a new air rifle in his future.
Yep! It will probably be a couple of years until he gets to really shoot it on his own, but we’ll team up with it and have some fun soon!

Denny O Clasko2 Reviews are fixed now.
processhead I’m going to see if we can remove the hover effect so it just displays all the time…

If he is a new member and logged in but can’t post, he probably needs to check his email for a confirmation, and click the confirm email button in it. People can’t post without confirming their email. Somewhat new rules there to deal with some issues…As far as the editing of posts, I’ll look more into it processhead . I thought I fixed it the other day but there must be something else I still need to find and fix.

processhead Jon was beyond giddy. Giddy describes him before anything was drawn. He ramped up to insane quickly. The lucky guy was Mike Christensen, the founder of Pass It On, and he joked about needing to keep his distance from Jon the rest of the weekend! Lol!
-
processhead I just disabled all restraints and settings on post-editing. It should allow pretty much anything now. If something doesn’t work again, let me know, but it should allow it anytime.

Jonathon Austin when do we get to see the 10 Lb bowl of mashed potatoes get consumed by Jonathan?
Soon… very soon…

ND Mike we are quite a long way away from having a new Waltons Smoker. No ETA at all unfortunately. As much as I want one, it’s just not high on the overall priority list right now.
This one looks pretty nice. If they can do that low of temps on pellets, that would be worth it and awesome to have! Sounds like a solid option to me!

1. Blue Ribbon* 2. Philly 3. Supreme Pizza 4. Jalapeno Popper* 5. Habanero (Ghost Pepper Cheese) 6. Apple (cheddar cheese) 7. Parmesan Garlic 8. Jambalaya (shrimp & rice) 9. Reuben (beef) 10. Cheeseburger Cheddarwurst (beef) 11. HotDogs (beef)*
Hot dogs are only for lunch.
Asterisks mean they will be served as whole brats for lunch as well as samples.
Subject to change without notice…
But this is probably the list, barring something unseen. -

I know a little early, but have you nailed down what flavors you are doing this year?
I’ll get the flavors posted here soon…

Tex_77 said in What are you hunting/fishing?:
Austin should we change the title of this thread to the “Jon’s fish pics” thread?
Probably. He seems to dominate the discussion at times.
Jonathon does catch some monsters from just a neighborhood pond though, and it is quite impressive.
I am jealous I don’t have a pond like that out my back door.
I am not jealous of all the snake he has talked about.
Sometime I want Jonathon to post a snake hunting picture and trophy kill on here from his pond! -

You will not get a physical ticket unless you visit the store in person.
You can pick up a physical ticket anytime from now until the day of the event. Or you may just show up the day of the event and show a receipt, or just share you name, email, or phone used on the order and our system can do a quick lookup and validate your tickets purchase. The ticket lookup takes 2 seconds and is what we expect most people to do on the day of the event. You should also get a secondary email with details about tickets and you will be put on a secondary email list to receive occasional event updates. It may take a day or two to receive your first email after purchasing having the tickets.
If anyone has issues or other questions, just let me know!

Tim Evers We had a glitch for a couple of days that was making the popup show an unreasonable amount of times. Now, it is down to less than 5% of views and only a subset of those views are eligible too.
The popup there is also easily dismissable. We do have another popup that is not easy to dismiss and that is to login or register. That popup is purposely put in so that it is very difficult to remove, and it will not go away but keep popping up on every page view. This is design to make people login, or strongly encourage guests to register for an account. The site functions much better when a user is registered, so we strongly encourage that.
If you are seeing a popup that is difficult to make go away, I’d bet it is related to the login/register popup.Lastly, if you want to send me a private chat with your previous username or email address I can look through our data and see if I can find your old account, but just by looking at usernames, I don’t see anything else that matches you, but I could see what else is there if I had your prior email.

PaPaSmokes
The yoders are nice, although technically a competitor of ours. If you just want a pellet smoker or grill, they are a good option. Like Tex_77 said, though, the ABS units are a totally different animal.
The most popular of the ABS models is the Pit Boss rotisserie. Your volume off that is so much more and different than a Yoder smoker. If you want a more traditional style grill, don’t do an ABS. If you want volume and a true large style smoker, then the various ABS options are exactly where you want to look.
