    • RE: Line of satelites?

I saw them (about 10 or so) last year late November or early December, they were easily visible with the naked eye… I thought my eyes were fooling me until I did a little research. If I remember correctly, there will be more added to extend the range.

    • RE: Walton stuffer flusher eggs

This is my first time using them and I think I must be doing something wrong because I don’t find them very helpful. But based on the comments above I have to ask how everyone uses them? If you are stuffing a 2.4x12inch casing how do you use more than one egg at a time? If I have to put one in then smash it down, pull the piston up and then repeat, I think that isn’t worth it vs just making burgers.

Steven Winscot exactly… I live in MO and even tho we typically do our “meat fest” in Feb, the amount of time the meat is out is something I’m always watching.

bocephus That was my worry. I want to buy one of the Walton’s bigger grinders and a dual grind but its a pretty large investment.

Over a weekend, but most of the grinding is done the first day.

Grimpuppy hey, this is an old post but I just came across a good deal on a L*M #8 with a dual grind and wanted your opinion. I do about 400-500lbs a year, can the #8 keep up? I have other grinders but the time savings on the dual grind is enticing.

    • RE: Sure Gel substitute Summer Sausage

Thank you! It was hard to find something that was specifically made for baking vs instant. Question, what should someone look for ? To be honest, I took a risk and used the non fat instant powdered mil from Walmart.

processhead Curious, is there a problem if I ordered powdered milk with fat? I found the below item before I seen this and now I’m slightly concerned! LOL It is a Spanish product but significantly cheaper than the other powdered milk products.

    • Summer Sausage fridge shelf life

How long does everyone think a summer sausage’s shelf life is in the fridge (uncut)?
