RE: What does everyone do for a profession?
I’ve been a Sheriff’s Deputy for 26 years. Hunted whitetails since I was 12. Only season I missed was when I was in the academy in 1996.

RE: Ban on gas stoves
GWG8541
It looks like RMI actually funded the study. Here is their mission statement:Our Mission: Transforming the global energy system to secure a clean, prosperous, zero-carbon future for all.
I guess funding a study that links gas stoves to child health issues leading to the possible ban on millions of gas stoves is a big step in their mission.

RE: What did everyone cook today?
Bob Stehlik I tried acorn squash for the first time last summer and froze some. I got one box to try mostly because they are so cheap at auction. They were good. I’ll get more next fall. I am adding stuff to my fall chores every year. I’ve been buying 8 or more dozen ears of corn every August at peak taste, cook cut and freeze a bunch. Added spaghetti squash 2 years ago I guess I’ll be doing acorn also this year. The corn turns out awesome also. When it’s thawed taste fresh off the cob

ND Mike don’t know how you all do it out there. It’s seems like anymore we get a little snow and everything shuts down from all the accidents.

RE: Merry (Late!) Christmas!
Jonathon my parents moved to the country from Baltimore when I was a kid and tried to can and raise chickens. The canning went good. They made mistakes raising chickens to eat. I wonder with all the free information out there now how much easier it would be now. The canned goods were always better than store bought. I liked the eggs better also. The raised chickens and turkeys I didn’t like. Realized later that it was all in how they are processed and cooked. If I ever move to a better property I might give it a try myself.

RE: What does everyone do for a profession?
ND Mike on my way into work today it was snow that turned into rain later, 31 degrees and 2 inches on the road. People stuck everywhere. Spent all morning getting people off the roadway and calling tows. I don’t think people would survive your kind of weather here.
