I was trying to figure out where I wanted to post this, with multiple threads on burgers, I figured I would just start a new thread for all things burgers. Here are some burgers I made today using Better Burger Seasoning, which is one of the best burger seasonings I have ever used. I griddled them on a flat top, along with bacon, jalapenos, onions, and the buns. Needless it was an amazing burger!!
-
Tex_77 that looks pretty tasty. If you haven’t tried the White Lightning seasoning from Boar’s night out it is a pretty dang good seasoning that I have used on just about everything. I have migrated toward using it on burgers everytime I make them.

erich52 I’ve never heard of it, I’ll have to check it out.

Tex_77 looks delish

Tex_77 How much use do you get out of that griddle? Is that the blackstone one everyone was talking about for a while?

Jonathon I use it a few times a month probably. It is not the Blackstone, it is a custom made griddle that goes on my stove. They are made by a company near Pittsburg, Kansas called Steelmade They were great to work with when I got it, just had to send them the dimensions of my stove and tell them where I wanted the drain holes. Here is another picture of it, when I did breakfast on it a while back.

I made Jalapeno Patty’s today, using Excalibur’s Jalapeno Patty mix. The mix is excellent and packs good heat, so if you want it milder add a pound or two of meat extra.
-
Tex_77 The jalapeño patty mix is most excellent! It can be a bit much for those who can’t take the heat. You could easily dilute by half for a pepper flavor on the mild side. Be careful as the dust when opening the bag and mixing can be a fiery and respiratory experience. This one is especially good with some high temp cheddar mixed in!

Joe Hell My wife made the same comment. I just need to get some high temp cheese the next time I do it. I used scissors to open the bag, as I was concerned with dust/sneezing/burning water eyes if it came flying out. I also used gloves which considering the amount of heat was a good call on my part.

Jonathon Has Walton’s ever carried Excalibur’s Better Burger Patty Mix? I like the Better Burger seasoning, and can only think the patty mix would really take a burger over the top.

I’ll check with Austin and let everyone know.

Lots of good places for Burgers in Vegas!
-
Tex_77 Yes indeed! My primary motivation for the trip is food as I’m not much of a gambler. My stay in Portland will be equally food centered. My friend lives in a serious foodie neighborhood with at least 30 bar and restaurant options within walking distance.

I’ve never been to Portland but that sounds like a fun area for food and drink!
-
Tex_77 Portland is an amazing place for food. The ‘Happy Hour’ at venues across the city is pretty awesome. One place I hope to visit is Olympia Provisions!
